Disability Services

IWAQ began offering disability services in 1997.  Our support workers are professional, highly experienced and set standards in their work. The IWAQ Disability Service recognises that each person is an individual and has his or her own needs.  The coordinator and staff are keen to offer a flexible service, which will take in these needs.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for disability services:

  • the person’s prime disability needs to be an intellectual disability
  • they should be in receipt of disability support pension or able to pay fee for service
  • they can be from culturally and linguistic backgrounds
  • they are required to fulfill the assessment process

How does the service work?

The Coordinator, the prospective client and his or her family or advocate, meet and discuss what are the needs and future hopes and plans.  A program is then worked out.

Our service offers:

  • Individualised Personalised programs
  • Setting goals
  • Focusing on personal growth
  • Decision making skills
  • Flexibility
  • Ensuring rights and responsibilities
  • Support
  • Caring staff
  • Quality Service
